Burke Counselling and Consulting came to life from a deep-rooted passion for helping others, reducing the stigma around addiction and mental health and the opportunity to offer a non-traditional therapy approach.
My interest in private practice started when I was trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). I often felt discouraged in my role as a therapist, and then ART completely changed that—not just for my clients, but for me too.
With the encouragement of a friend and colleague, I launched into private practice, focusing entirely on the rapid recovery that ART makes possible.
It's hard to put into words how much I love this work, but seeing clients experience rapid relief is truly amazing.

By using a combination of eye movements and visualization techniques, ART allows individuals to process and reframe difficult memories, emotions, and experiences without the need to relive them in detail. This gentle yet powerful therapy can improve mental health, relationships, emotional well-being, sports performance, and overall quality of life in as few as 1–5 sessions

By creating a safe and open environment, I hope to empower individuals and teams to prioritize mental health and build resilience in both personal and professional settings.
Before diving into my education and qualifications, I want to highlight what truly matters when choosing a therapist: CONNECTION AND COMFORT.
I take pride in my ability to develop genuine relationships with my clients. My goal is to provide an environment where you can feel truly comfortable and understood.
I am a Counselling Therapist and Addiction Counsellor with the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA) #1153. I am also a Certified Master Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.) Practitioner with the Rosenzweig Center for Rapid Recovery. With over 17 years of experience working with both youth and adults in Alberta, I’ve had the opportunity to support individuals through a wide range of mental health challenges.
While I am trained and experienced in a variety of therapeutic modalities, my primary focus is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) due to its rapid and effective results.
The immediate relief I’ve experienced personally, along with the profound transformations I’ve witnessed in my clients, has been nothing short of remarkable. Clients experience fast relief—without the need for extensive talking.
Casual, Authentic Approach:
What you see is what you get. I’m down-to-earth and approachable—no formal suits or clinical jargon here! I show up in jeans and a t-shirt, often sitting cross-legged during our sessions because comfort matters.
Time to Breathe, Time to Heal:
Each session is booked for 90-minutes so you’ll never feel rushed. We’ll take the time to complete each ART session, ensuring you leave each session with a feeling of relief and resolution.
I grew up in a small town in Alberta and now live on an acreage with my husband and our 8-year-old son.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, traveling, skiing, and working out.
I consider myself loyal, genuine, compassionate, and I really enjoy getting to know people.

Please Note: Unlike most health professionals, the CRA requires me to charge GST for my services. I appreciate your understanding.
A free consultation to ensure a good fit for you. Let's talk about your concerns, goals, and my counselling approach.
60 min initial assessment for biological, psychological, and social factors contributing to the identified concern. It's a holistic ass +essment, looking at different life areas, including education, work history, family relationships, mental health, and medical issues to better identify individual needs and create a treatment plan.
This is a popular choice for individuals ready to dive in. It’s ideal for completing an assessment and experiencing a full session or addressing a specific issue, phobia, or incident.
During this appointment, we’ll begin with an assessment to understand your needs and goals, followed by a complete Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) session tailored to you.
A 90-120 min session using ART focused on your identified treatment goal.
An assessment is required before booking an individual session.
Reduced rates are available for individuals experiencing financial hardship without access to benefits. A consult is required.
As my schedule fills up quickly, I ask that you please consider the impact of cancellations. When an appointment is canceled, it prevents others who have been waiting weeks from taking the spot.
While I am understanding of emergency situations, and illness, etc., if you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so with as much advance notice as possible, ideally at least 48 hours in advance. This helps me accommodate others who are eagerly waiting for an appointment.
Clients who provide less than 24 hours' notice may be charged a cancellation fee of $185.
Failure to attend a scheduled appointment without prior notice may incur a $225 fee.
Additionally, after 3 cancellations, you may be required to provide a non-refundable deposit.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based approach designed to accelerate recovery, providing an alternative to traditional talk therapy.
Unlike conventional methods, which can involve lengthy and challenging processes, ART focuses on quickly resolving distressing memories, emotions and trauma in 1-5 sessions.
Guided Support
Your therapist will guide you through each step of the session, providing a safe and supportive environment.
Focus and Follow
You’ll bring to mind a specific issue while using bilateral stimulation, like eye movements or hand buzzers, to help your brain process it.
Replace the Image
You’ll mentally replace distressing images or memories with positive ones.
Move Sensations
Bilateral stimulation helps process and move out any negative physical sensations, desensitizing you to the original issue.
Objective Recall
ART changes the way your brain stores these memories, so they will be recalled as objective facts with no distress.
Rapid Results
ART often provides relief in just 1-5 sessions, much faster than traditional talk therapies.
Minimal Talking
No need to talk through trauma in detail, making it a comfortable option for those who prefer privacy.
Direct Approach
The therapist guides the session and focuses on specific memories or issues.
Non Invasive
Unlike some trauma therapies, ART doesn’t require revisiting painful memories in depth.
Empowering and Closure Oriented
Puts control in the client’s hands, increases confidence and each session ends with positive resolution.
One of my passions is raising awareness and understanding of mental health and addiction. This began during my time teaching mental health and addiction to Alberta Peace Officers, Correctional Officers, and Sheriffs at the Alberta Solicitor General College. I believe that knowledge is power and when we know better, we can do better.
I offer engaging and informative psycho-educational presentations tailored to the unique needs of corporate businesses, schools, sports teams, unions, first responders, and other organizations. Each topic is customizable to ensure it resonates and creates meaningful impact for your audience.
It would be an honor to provide your team, staff, or organization with tools and insights to navigate these essential topics both in and out of the workplace.
For rates and availability, please feel free to reach out to discuss your specific requirements and goals.
